GURU POORNIMA CELEBRATIONS:


Evening programme:

Three speeches, a video presentation and a Carnatic Musical offering marked the evening of this year’s Guru Poornima celebrations today here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The programme commenced at 1650 hrs. with a short introductory speech on the ensuing session.The speakers for the final session of the talk series were Sri Hemant Patel from Gujarat, Ms Divya Tyagi from New Delhi and Sri Sundar Anantaraman from Karnataka.

Sri Hemant Patel, District President, SSSSO, Vadodara, who spoke first elucidated on the organisational endeavour highlighting the Nine Point Code Of Conduct, elaborating the 9 points in brief.

Ms Divya Tyagi, Dy. State Coordinator, SSSSO, Delhi and also an active force in the Balvikas movement spoke of the inception and evolution of the Balvikas movement that blossoms leaders for nation building. Listing out statistical details Ms Tyagi said, every home should become a Balvikas Centre, every mother should become a Balvikas Teacher…as nurturing a student is to nurture the nation.

The final speaker, Sri Sundar Anantaraman,  spoke of the Service activities of SSSSO – India. Listing out some of the landmark service activities undertaken in various states, the speaker said ‘these are mere statistics; in Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations quantity is incidental and quality is fundamental.’ 

A  video depicting the service activities initiated by  Baba followed next. 

A musical bouquet, Carnatic vocal, by accomplished artiste Ms S Sowmya was the next item to follow. Beginning with an offering to The Supreme Teacher singing “Gurur Brahma…” she sang for the next fifty minutes producing 9 gems that included “Sakalakalavaniye Sharanam…”, “Shakthi Dayini Saayi Narayani…”, “Enna Thavam…”, “Nagumo…” etc. Ms Sowmya was accompanied by Embar Sri Kannan on violin, Sri Neyveli Sri Narayanan on Mridangam and Chandrsekhara Sharma on Ghatam.

Today, Guru Poornima 2013, incidentally marks the golden jubilee of the event, when Baba, out of sheer compassion and love for His devotees healed Himself of a paralytic stroke that He had taken upon Himself…and the healing was followed by His epochal declaration, revealing that, He is Paripoorna Shiva-Shakthi Avatar
