CONVENTION OF SRI SATHYA SAI SCHOOLS IN INDIA:
The Third Convention of Sri Sathya Sai Schools in India was recently
conducted at Prashanthi Nilayam on 18th and 19th February 2012.The
conference was attended by nearly 200 delegates comprising of Principals and
members of the Management from 88 out of 99 Sri Sathya Sai Schools from all
over India. The convention was also attended by the State Presidents of The
Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations and State Trust Convenors of the various
Sri Sathya Sai Trusts in India.
The theme of the convention was “The Way Forward To Excellence” in Sri
Sathya Sai Schools in India.The objective was to take stock of the
commissions and omissions since the second convention held in Nagpur ,
Maharashtra and pave the way for future commitments and actions.The aim was
to ensure in all schools Academic Excellence, Human Excellence and
Environmental Excellence.
In her welcome address, Ms Meera Kulkarni, Faculty, Institute of Sathya Sai
School reiterated the need to experience Bhagawan’s omnipresence and
strengthen the inner voice so that Bhagawan becomes the voice of our
conscience.Dr B G Pitre, Director, Institute of Sathya Sai Education
India,traced the history of the Sai education movement.Shri Ranga Rao,
Convenor, Sri Sathya Sai Trust, AP in his inaugural address elaborated on
the the milestones covered.
Shri Nimish Pandya, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Maharashtra, speaking on
the “way forward to excellence” assured there was no crisis ailing Mother
India except the crisis of human character. Quoting Sri Satya Sai Baba
extensively, he said that the the 99 Sathya Sai Schools with their 50000
children every year tutored by the 1900 committed teachers/gurus provided
an amazing opportunity to make the miracle of character formation happen.
The convention then split into several panels which discussed the following
subjects.
Panel 1- Concept of Excellence in Schools
Panel 2- Efforts to achieve excellence
There were intensive group discussions on various subjects
Announcing that the next convention will be held in 2014 at Indore,Madhya
Pradesh.Mr V.Srinivasan,All India President gave specific guidelines in the
search for excellence. He said that this journey cannot end as each
milestone is only a a step to the next milestone. He outlined the scheme of
interaction between the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation and the schools and
also outlined the participation of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust in this
Mission.
