Deepavali Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam

Prasanthi Nilayam celebrated Deepavali with a large number of devotees from Gujarat attending both morning and evening sessions in the Sai Kulwant Hail.

Before the commencement of the programme, State President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Gujarat, Sri Manohar Trikarnad spoke for a while greeting one and all on the auspicious occasion. He also presented a brief profile of various seva activities in the state.

The programme commenced with Ganesha Vandana followed by a couple of traditional folk dances by the youth of Gujarat reminiscing the golden days of Lord Krishna during Dwapara Age.

The lead item for the day was a Sword Dance, 'Talwar Nrutya' by Rajendra D. Raval, an Ahmedabad based artist who performed graceful and intricate feats with a succession of swords that was much appreciated by the audience.

At the end of the programme the artistes were felicitated and bhajans were sung. Prasadam was distributed to all and Mangala Arathi was offered at 1800 hrs.
