Gujarati New Year Day Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam and Gujarat Youth Parthi yatra
Devotees from Gujarat celebrated Gujarati New Year Day at Prasanthi Nilayam with fervour and solemnity. There was a cultural programme in the evening by the Gujarat Parthi Yatra group consisting of around 1500 members, including Bala Vikas children and Gurus, Sai Youth and children of the Sri Sathya Sai School, Surat. The group is on a three day visit (25-27 October) visit to Prasanthi Nilayam.
The programme commenced at 1700 hrs. after regular half-an-hour Veda chanting with a brief address by State President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Gujarat, Sri Manohar Trikarnad that was followed by chanting of Maha Ganesh Pancharatna Strotram by Sai Youth girls from the state and a short dance programme, "Gananayakaya Ganadaivataya..." by Balvikas girls.
Next, the children from Sri Sathya Sai School, Surat, enacted a drama entitled "Living in Sai's Omnipresence" . The presentation was an attempt to portray some true incidents, as testimonies of Bhagawan's Omnipresence.
The final programme for the day was 'Beda Dance' (Dance with Pots) by renowned artist Sri Chirag Mahida from Baroda. The artist, with his balancing feats, enthralled the audience with his breathtaking dance performance with the final act of balancing more than ten round pots arranged one on top of the other.
The programme concluded with bhajans. All the participating children and the guest artist were felicitated and prasadam was distributed to the entire assembly.
