New fully-automated Biochemistry Analyzer inaugurated at SSSIHMS
The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram has acquired a new state-of-the-art Roche Cobas fully automated Biochemistry Analyser at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh.
The state-of-the-art Biochemistry Analyser can perform 480 different types of tests on the samples in an hour. Moreover, the Analyser comes with a continuous sample loading facility, so that samples can be loaded while the Analyser performing tests on other samples. The most interesting feature of the Analyser that sets this Biochemistry Analyser apart from the rest of the machines is the facility of Remote Online Monitoring, through which the whole process of the biochemical analysis can be monitored online with the help of a smart phone.
The machine will be used to for a number of Biochemical tests of blood, urine and other body fluids.
The new machine was inaugurated by Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust (SSSCT), Sri GSRCV Prasada Rao in a ceremony held at SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, on Thursday. Present on the occasion were the Director of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, Dr Gurumurthy and the Head of Department of Department of Biochemistry, Dr Sai Mangala.
Sri GSRCV Prasada Rao, while inaugurating the Analyser said that it was yet another high end machine added to the list of latest equipment in use at the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram. “It is the continuous effort of SSSCT to upgrade the facilities in the health institutions started by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba,” he added.
According to the Dr Gurumurthy, acquiring the new Analyser helps in providing patients with better care as enshrined in the principles of healthcare by Bhagawan Baba. Dr Gurumurthy added that the present day definitive diagnosis and management is supported by such machines for evidence based medical practice.
